Biography:

Dr. Atef Boujelben received Ph.D degree in computer systems engineering from the National School of Engineers of Sfax - Tunisia in 2012.
He is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Sciences and Telecommunications at the University of Sfax in Tunisia.
His research interest include, but is not limited to, medical image 2D/3D segmantation, indexation and classification, semantic concepts and ontology.

Abstract:

The presentation that will be delivered in course of the TWESD2018 will be a brief introductory overview on Python programming based on a short tutorial to know the based concepts of the Python language and a scientific library like numpy, matplotlib, panda, Scikit-learn.
To introduce a majority of concepts, an example of application based on machine learning algorithms will be implemented and demonstrated.

Tutorial2: An overview on machine learning algorithms

Dr. Ghassen Smaoui

Biography:

Dr. Ghassen Smaoui received both engineering degree and Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from the National School of Engineers of Sfax - Tunisia in 2011 and 2018 respectively. His research interest include, but is not limited to, signal processing, biomedical engineering, embedded systems and machine learning.

Abstract:

The presentation that will be delivered in course of the TWESD2018 will be a brief introductory overview on machine learning algorithms, namely the supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning and their main applications such as regression, classification and clustering.
It will be also an occasion to implement and demonstrate an example of a simple linear regression algorithm on Matlab.
